edition O02.

10 fresh new songs.
3 throwback joints.
enjoy. =)

"WHITE GIRL" // young jeezy feat. bloodraw
i don't know why this wasn't on my last posting... but if you haven't already heard it, get this shit. cute metaphor/play on words bringing back the whole "white girl" slang for cocaine. if one can describe slang for coke as "cute." the video honestly just kinda makes me laugh, though, all these white chicks pretending they're down and shit. HEADLINING LINE: "you know we keep that white girl, christina aguilera, my jewelry too loud, babygirl, i can't hear ya."

"THINKIN' ABOUT" // tiffany evans
last time i gave you "promise ring", and if this girl's voice amazed you then, it will amaze you once again on this track. much less ciara-fied, still a really sweet song. HEADLINING LINE: "they say you never miss a good thing, not until it's walked out of your door, but be careful what you wish, 'cause someday you just might get what you're asking for. and i know just what they say, used to wish you could leave me alone, never should've been wishing your love and affection for some other girl."

"HAPPY JUICE" // keri hilson feat. snoop dogg
this chick is all over timbaland's new album, featured on the hottest songs on the damn cd, but her solo career is just as hot. and next time i pick up some hennessey, you better believe i'm gonna try mixing it with some apple juice. HEADLINING LINE: "oh i think he like me, he was looking good but he was drinking lonely. he asked me what i'm drinking, you already know it's... henny and apple juice."

"BARTENDER" // t-pain feat. akon
so apparently the bartender he bought you a drink from was hotter than you and t-pain ended up with her instead. decent song, doesn't quite have that something that "buy you a drank" had, but it's been growing on me. HEADLINING LINE: "two hundred bitches and man, ain't none of them hot, 'cept for this pretty young thing that was workin' all the way at the top... shawty what is your name? she made us drink, to drink, we drunk 'em, got drunk..."

"WHERE DID HE GO" // keri hilson
of all the keri hilson songs on this post (and there's a lot - damn i love this girl), this one is probably my favorite. especially loving the lyrics. simple but meaningful. HEADLINING LINE: "i'm a mess right now, out of order, i'm torn up, i'm going down, won't you hold me together? i'm pouring out."

"LOVE YA" // keri hilson
production is crazy on this one. real emotional sounding track. timbaland must hook her up special for appearing on 'shock value.' HEADLINING LINE: "don't need to be with a bunch of men, i know you do me the best. don't need a million opinions to know you ain't like the rest. i'm not afraid to say that i love ya."

"NUMBER ONE LOVE" // neo
a very updated "love you down" remix. i'm a little obsessed with this right now, it's real smooth, real hot. i love how they sped up the sample of the original song for the chorus, and neo lays down a pretty decent rap. HEADLINING LINE:

"GOOD THINGS" // rich boy feat. polow da don & keri hilson
very potential upcoming single from rich boy. catchy hook, somewhat meaningful. it grows on you. HEADLINING LINE: "now we kick it too hard, you went too deep, say you feel it in your heart so i'm a be real 'cause you give me what i want, and i ain't gonna tell you i love you if i don't."

"HANDS & FEET" // keri hilson
yeah i can't get enough of this girl. keri explores the commonly believed adage about substantially sized 'hands and feet' on this track. HEADLINING LINE: "can you pick me up like a real bad habit, flip me over like i'm acrobatic? we both sick of playing hard to get, read my lips, i'm ready to go."

THROWBACKS
songs i could never forget about...

"I NEED A MAN" // foxy brown
if you're a single female looking for a real man, this is bound to become your anthem, real quick. foxy outlines all the simple but necessary things that a real down girl is looking for. plus i gotta promote the ill na na (being as that was my nickname in high school). HEADLINING LINE: "homie look, what ya sellin' i ain't buyin'...with dude i'm done, tell him i ain't crying. you'll see the proof when i drop my album, he's the past now, plus dog i'm better without him. i just need a dude that act right, if my life go dim he could be my flashlight."

"LIE DETECTOR" // mya feat. beenie man
off her 2000 release 'fear of flying'. the best song on the album that was never released. has kind of an exotic feel to it. HEADLINING LINE: "yo, this is for all of y'all out there that ever dealt with somebody who be lying, fakin', cheatin', stealin', creepin', B.S.-in'... i got this thing called the lie detector, two teaspoons and they're bound to tell the truth, listen."

"THE PANTIES" // mos def
one of the best songs off mos's 'the new danger' album. despite the title, this song is so precious, as mos offers up his usual style for more singsong vocals. i'd make love to this shit anyday. HEADLINING LINE: "baby slow down, just take your time... you and me gonna be here for awhile, okay. i got so much that i want to do, but i can show you better than i can say..."
