originally recorded by mya, this song is perfected by keri and kells. must have.

fresh twist on a classic song from ne-yo. love nicki's swag.

"keys under palm trees" - nicki minaj
nicki kills it. as usual.

"turn off" - keri hilson (?) & lil' wayne
something to bump to.

new hotness from my girl brit. had to do it.

"bump like some speakers" - cherish
this is that FIRE... an ill, and sexy as hell, song from the girls of cherish.

"us against the world" - christina milian
new power ballad from ms. milian. she's crazy underrated. can't wait for the new album.

"arab money" - busta rhymes
crazy club banger! you know i'm gettin' a-rab money.

i fuck with tynisha keli. amazing vocalist, and i love this song.

"go away" && "a part" - casely

"muthafuckin' liar" - nelly feat. st. lunatics
song is hot fiyah. my favorite jam i've heard from nelly in a LONG time.

"do it to me" - keri hilson
samples ll cool j's classic "doin' it", and the song is doin' it well!

"mad" - ne-yo
if you haven't copped ne-yo's album and have only heard the singles, this is a good one to peep additionally.

"when we dance" - ryan leslie
you know it's nothing but fuego from r. les. this is some sexy shit.

it's britney, bitch.

britney mothafuckin' spears is the SHIT. honestly i think i even like her better now, even with all the drama and bad media about her ... i think it's making her more raw and hardcore.

you can't deny she has developed a little edge over time. from pleading "oh baby, baby, how was i supposed to know" in "BABY ONE MORE TIME" to "you got me in a crazy position, if you're on a mission you got my permission" in "GIMME MORE", we've seen our little brit brit grow from a completely innocent young girl thrust into the world of fame... to, well, the product of thrusting a completely innocent young girl thrust into a world of fame, which is what we are seeing from her now.

britney has always been one to stir up controversy, and we LOVE IT. we eat it up, every last bite. don't lie. you prey on the latest britney news. it's ok. everyone does. she just has this way of captivating the entire world with some new headline... whether it was her growing provocativeness, her public make out session with madonna, her rebellious and outspoken nature seen through lyrics, outfits, anything possible, her brief vegas marriage, her much speculated marriage/divorce/custody battle chronicles with kevin federline, her most recent alcohol/drug problems... well, you already know.

but enough about the woman behind the music. let's talk about the MUSIC. as much as some want to write britney off as an untalented bubblegum pop princess gone wild, britney has produced an incredible repetoire throughout her eight-years-and-counting career. and the fact that she is about to release a dynamite new album at the end of the month despite all her recent issues, it doesn't look like she's gonna be putting the lid on that repetoire anytime soon. the highlights are right here for you. not in any order though - - that would be far too difficult.

third edition.

10 more new ones & 3 more throwbaaaacksss.
i just wanted to get these out to you 'cause it's been sitting as a saved draft for far too long, so no headlining lines.

"CAN'T TELL ME NOTHING" // kanye west
amazing amazing amazinggggggggg. download it now. kanye is back at his best. honestly i like him a lot better when he's doing his thing on his OWN, under his own album and all that. it always just comes out so much better, as good as he can sound featured on other people's songs or in collaborations. he shines on this one for real.

"SEXY LADY" // yung berg
you've likely heard this already, it probably should've gone on the last post. but yeah, hot summer song that i am loving right now.

"GO HARD OR GO HOME" // e-40
love e-40, he's crazyyyy. this song is off the 'stomp the yard' soundtrack so it's real upbeat, definitely dance-able, and it sounds wild.

"SOMETIMES" // cassie
the beat is simple, yet at the same time so hot and a little unique. gotta love ryan leslie and next selection for that one. cassie makes it a really sweet song singing over the beat about her recent, and very relatable and common, uncertainties over a relationship.

"GET IT SHAWTY (CORY BOLD REMIX)" // lloyd
for those of you who have never heard a cory bold remix... i feel bad for you. start searching that shit on your music program. and start by searching this song 'cause it's a hot hot remix. i'll skip the headlining line because this isn't really about the song, as much as it is about the concept of a remix of the song. ;)

"THAT'S WHAT U R" // amerie
such a sexy song. amerie's silky sweet voice laces perfectly over the soft seductive beat. i love when she breaks it down in the hook, and the random subtle background sirens.

"LAST NIGHT (REMIX)" // diddy feat. keyshia cole, lil' kim, & busta rhymes
definite upgraded version of "last night," it adds a lot of flavor to it. kim's part in the beginning is my favorite. always love hearing diddy and kim on the same track too.

"THAT ONE" // christina milian feat. ben franklin/frankie j
christina milian is so damn underrated, her voice is crazy, so much raw emotion and talent. this song is legit. the beat and the violins make it even more intense.

"SHE GOT IT" // 2 pistols feat. t-pain
smooth and always fly, what more do you expect from t-pain, he's on fire right now. anything he touches is 4 out of 5 times HOT.

"SAME GIRL" // r. kelly & usher
ok just look at who sings this song. that should be enough explanation. get this shit now.

THROWBACKS
songs i could never forget about...

"AIN'T NO NIGGA" // jay-z feat. foxy brown
before beyonce became his #1 duet collaborator, there was foxy. it's debatable who sounds better on the tracks...

"MY BOO" // ghost town dj's
WHO COULD FORGET THIS SONG. i hope this brings back the memories for you the same way it always does for me... love those early nineties.

"SATISFY YOU" // puff daddy feat. r. kelly
or maybe he was p. diddy at this point, who knows. regardless you can't deny this song, it's a little newer than the other two throwbacks, but it's still guaranteed to bring you back a few years.

edition O02.

10 fresh new songs.
3 throwback joints.
enjoy. =)

"WHITE GIRL" // young jeezy feat. bloodraw
i don't know why this wasn't on my last posting... but if you haven't already heard it, get this shit. cute metaphor/play on words bringing back the whole "white girl" slang for cocaine. if one can describe slang for coke as "cute." the video honestly just kinda makes me laugh, though, all these white chicks pretending they're down and shit. HEADLINING LINE: "you know we keep that white girl, christina aguilera, my jewelry too loud, babygirl, i can't hear ya."

"THINKIN' ABOUT" // tiffany evans
last time i gave you "promise ring", and if this girl's voice amazed you then, it will amaze you once again on this track. much less ciara-fied, still a really sweet song. HEADLINING LINE: "they say you never miss a good thing, not until it's walked out of your door, but be careful what you wish, 'cause someday you just might get what you're asking for. and i know just what they say, used to wish you could leave me alone, never should've been wishing your love and affection for some other girl."

"HAPPY JUICE" // keri hilson feat. snoop dogg
this chick is all over timbaland's new album, featured on the hottest songs on the damn cd, but her solo career is just as hot. and next time i pick up some hennessey, you better believe i'm gonna try mixing it with some apple juice. HEADLINING LINE: "oh i think he like me, he was looking good but he was drinking lonely. he asked me what i'm drinking, you already know it's... henny and apple juice."

"BARTENDER" // t-pain feat. akon
so apparently the bartender he bought you a drink from was hotter than you and t-pain ended up with her instead. decent song, doesn't quite have that something that "buy you a drank" had, but it's been growing on me. HEADLINING LINE: "two hundred bitches and man, ain't none of them hot, 'cept for this pretty young thing that was workin' all the way at the top... shawty what is your name? she made us drink, to drink, we drunk 'em, got drunk..."

"WHERE DID HE GO" // keri hilson
of all the keri hilson songs on this post (and there's a lot - damn i love this girl), this one is probably my favorite. especially loving the lyrics. simple but meaningful. HEADLINING LINE: "i'm a mess right now, out of order, i'm torn up, i'm going down, won't you hold me together? i'm pouring out."

"LOVE YA" // keri hilson
production is crazy on this one. real emotional sounding track. timbaland must hook her up special for appearing on 'shock value.' HEADLINING LINE: "don't need to be with a bunch of men, i know you do me the best. don't need a million opinions to know you ain't like the rest. i'm not afraid to say that i love ya."

"NUMBER ONE LOVE" // neo
a very updated "love you down" remix. i'm a little obsessed with this right now, it's real smooth, real hot. i love how they sped up the sample of the original song for the chorus, and neo lays down a pretty decent rap. HEADLINING LINE:

"GOOD THINGS" // rich boy feat. polow da don & keri hilson
very potential upcoming single from rich boy. catchy hook, somewhat meaningful. it grows on you. HEADLINING LINE: "now we kick it too hard, you went too deep, say you feel it in your heart so i'm a be real 'cause you give me what i want, and i ain't gonna tell you i love you if i don't."

"HANDS & FEET" // keri hilson
yeah i can't get enough of this girl. keri explores the commonly believed adage about substantially sized 'hands and feet' on this track. HEADLINING LINE: "can you pick me up like a real bad habit, flip me over like i'm acrobatic? we both sick of playing hard to get, read my lips, i'm ready to go."

THROWBACKS
songs i could never forget about...

"I NEED A MAN" // foxy brown
if you're a single female looking for a real man, this is bound to become your anthem, real quick. foxy outlines all the simple but necessary things that a real down girl is looking for. plus i gotta promote the ill na na (being as that was my nickname in high school). HEADLINING LINE: "homie look, what ya sellin' i ain't buyin'...with dude i'm done, tell him i ain't crying. you'll see the proof when i drop my album, he's the past now, plus dog i'm better without him. i just need a dude that act right, if my life go dim he could be my flashlight."

"LIE DETECTOR" // mya feat. beenie man
off her 2000 release 'fear of flying'. the best song on the album that was never released. has kind of an exotic feel to it. HEADLINING LINE: "yo, this is for all of y'all out there that ever dealt with somebody who be lying, fakin', cheatin', stealin', creepin', B.S.-in'... i got this thing called the lie detector, two teaspoons and they're bound to tell the truth, listen."

"THE PANTIES" // mos def
one of the best songs off mos's 'the new danger' album. despite the title, this song is so precious, as mos offers up his usual style for more singsong vocals. i'd make love to this shit anyday. HEADLINING LINE: "baby slow down, just take your time... you and me gonna be here for awhile, okay. i got so much that i want to do, but i can show you better than i can say..."

the first ever.

just want to start things off with a brief introduction ..

as some of you may already know, pretty much i listen to the illest music ever. part of the reason why is because i'm extremely dedicated to music, mainly r&b/hiphop/rap/soul, especially all the new shit, & finding good music. but .. also it's probably just because i'm the shit - you know, just part of who i am, a gift from God i suppose. & i want to share this gift, because i just love music that much. people are always asking me for hot new music (or even older music but still classic) & so i figured i would just put it all right here for y'all .. complete with full lists of songs that i have approved, reviewed, and recommend to anyone who listens to the earlier stated genres of music. i'm gonna try to pick songs that you may not have already heard, not the typical stuff that you can turn on your radio & hear. there will also occasionally be a couple of songs in the "throwback" section at the end of the lists, and they will be just that--throwback cuts that stay hot even after years pass. i've downloaded all of these off bearshare so they should be available at least through that program.

i'm thinking of doing it monthly, but i may do it more monthly .. regardless, for now, here's the list for may 2007 ..

"BE YOUR GIRL" // teedra moses
loving this song, it's a good one for spring. kind of has an old school flavor, sweet song about a girl feeling what is "more than just a silly crush" (you know how those go). it'll definitely bring you back. the lyrics are simple but sweet. r&b. HEADLINING LINE: "all alone at night, i harbor feelings for you, holding my pillow tight, sometimes i even touch myself... imagining your pleasure, baby. next time i see you, i'm gonna walk right up to you and say what's on my mind."

"GO BACK (GHETTO LOVE)" // lloyd
ok so i love the entire new lloyd cd, but i'm gonna pick only a few of my favorites for this. real mellow cut, then again most of his music IS -- slow, smooth, very sexy. r&b. HEADLINING LINE: "do you remember, you would probably tell your friends that you had a ghetto man, and we lived in ghetto land..."

"ONCE I'M GONE" // nivea
why is nivea the most underrated female r&b singer EVER. and who attacked her latest album 'animalistic', leaving only a few decent songs? this girl has serious potential, she's proved it to us before, i can even forgive her for those few butchered songs off 'animalistic'. that being said, this track is a winner. i love the attitude all over it. HEADLINING LINE: "but you got the answers and i'm tired of questions, and i'm here to tell you that this time it's over, this time i'm leaving, this time i'm gone now... i'm leaving this shit alone. and you gonna miss me once i'm gone."

"MY LOVE" // ciara
if you haven't copped 'the evolution', this is one song that you definitely need to hear from it, aside from all the songs she has released so far. the lyrics are incredible, and SO relatable. she sounds so sincere on it. loveeee it. r&b. HEADLINING LINE: "'cause if you only knew what i felt for you, you would've held on tighter, fought a little harder, been a little smarter, and now you're gonna miss my love .. boy you had a keeper, didn't know how to treat her, should've dug a little deeper."

"PLAY ON PLAYA" // nas feat. snoop dogg
this is the kind of rap i miss hearing. i love the chilled out beat and other than that - it's nas. not only that but snoop's on the track. you know the shit's gonna be hot. enough said. HEADLINING LINE: "how much money's enough? think maybe like the trillion figures, pray my daughter don't wild like the Hilton sisters, that'd kill me yo, filthy rich."

"I ALREADY KNOW" // nas
not your typical rap song with some random chick singing on the hook. ok so maybe a little typical but as i said before... it's nas. in other words this is fire. HEADLINING LINE: "you know, lover not a fighter, i'm the vagina lining reconstuctor, bed sheet ruffler, for you freak girls undercover, who loves ya? i'm not a priest don't fuck with me but step inside my confessional, that's the bedroom... tell the truth i'll be impressional, wait before you pass your collection plate."

"SHE FEELIN' ME" // lil wayne feat. nivea
a little older but never quite got the attention it should've. so heartwarming in that thug love manner that it makes you kinda sad that niv and weezy ever broke up. word is he's getting it in with beyonce's little sister now? HEADLINING LINE: "i make love to my girl and i fuck the police."

"LET GO" // megan rochell
yet another underrated female r&b singer, total mistake by the industry in not putting this girl out when you consider all the other random ass chicks they have out there. her voice is raw emotion. the lyrics to this song are amazing. HEADLINING LINE: "they look at me asking to take your place 'cause my nights be so cold. i'm not alright, i don't even get those feels, those chills, like i did before. so tired of being over the sink saying i just can't take no more, when you look at me why can't you see, i need, i bleed... i'm in need of love."

"THE ONE YOU NEED" // megan rochell feat. fabolous
you know those songs where girls are saying all about how some other girl who's got their man ain't really got shit on them... some of them really don't sound too convincing. however i'm completely persuaded by this song that whoever this dude is NEEDS to get with megan rochell. tell 'em girl. HEADLINING LINE: "i can't handle this, i'm tired of hearing you talk about this chick, how can she be acting so hot, sadiddy, tell her check herself 'cause i'm hotter than she ever will think she can be. and i knew you before she came through and i'm still cool, you know how i do."

"BETCHA" // megan rochell
alright last one from megan rochell, but i'm just trying to get my point across that this girl puts together some serious music, gets her production right and her lyrics right, all the time. HEADLINING LINE: "you thought i was so unmoved, and you thought i didn't care... you can still call me, sometimes, just to say hello. i know that you've assumed that i'm still mad at you. that was a memory, you're still a part of me..."

"FIRE" // raz b
for real this song is FIRE. raz b from b2k is starting his solo career and starting it off pretty strong with this shit. HEADLINING LINE: "trying to play it cool but i gotta prove to myself that i can handle you, you're like fire, fire, touch it you might get hurt, baby i'll never learn to stay away from your fire. no need to rescue me, your body's flaming, i'm fiending for third degree. your fire, your temperature's warning me, but it's warming me, so i wanna be on fire."

"WRONG FOR ME" // omarion
we've all been through it. we want someone so damn bad, they make us want them that bad, but they're not really doing us right, they're all wrong for us. HEADLINING LINE: "she knew what she was doin' to me, she had me in the coma for weeks, i can't sleep 'cause all i think is she, she might be the one but baby girl's wrong for me. i know it, but she's giving it all to me, can't let it go, this thing is taking over me. don't know what to do about this one... can't leave her alone."

"KILLING ME" // lloyd
just get it now. so hot. tight beat and lloyd's voice is just crazy seductive, all the time. HEADLINING LINE: "she's a devil in a dress, dressed to impress, the best of the best hustlas, ain't no telling how many she corrupts, run up, try your luck, she might steal your heart from ya."

"HAZEL" // lloyd
a peculiar love song about one of lloyd's favorite addictions, apparently. actually it's kind of creepy the fact he is saying all of this about 'hazel'. HEADLINING LINE: "you know i love you so much, i'd hit the corner for you and scrape the guts out a dutch."

"WHAT YOU WANNA DO" // lloyd
once again, seducing me. hope this song does it for you too. HEADLINING LINE: "'cause he don't know ya like i know ya... and that's for sure. girl, he can't show you what i show ya... and that's for sure. why are you here if you don't want it?"

"YOU (REMIX)" // lloyd feat. andre 3000 & nas
real good call on bringing back the song they sampled for this remix. throw andre 3000 and nas on the track, who better to make a hot song hotter? HEADLINING LINE: "if we were both in paris, i would've grabbed her by the waist and kissed her, but we in the middle of whole foods and those foods ain't supposed to beef, but you'd think i hate tofu."

"TONIGHT I'M YOURS" // lil zane feat. tank
what woman doesn't love when a rapper shows his soft side, by spitting the sweetest words and getting some sexy-voiced male r&b singer on the track? HEADLINING LINE: "i used to tell you i'd be back when i could... you think i'd leave my baby girl in the hood? i would never do such things."

"CLASSIC" // kanye west, nas, krs-one, & rakim
if you love hiphop... then i'll be surprised if this is the first time you're hearing about this. it's truly classic. real refreshing to hear right about now. just download it now. one line would be too hard to pick so i'll just leave you with the chorus. HEADLINING LINE: "classic... live straight classic, i'm better than i ever been, timeless, i'm everywhere you've never been and better than i ever been."

"AIN'T NOTHING" // monica
some real sassy shit from monica produced by scott storch. she lays all the shit out front on this one. HEADLINING LINE: "i wish a heffah would try and diss me, no partner slow down, diamonds don't impress me, had six carats 'fore i turned sixteen, drove the hottest S-class with the bucket seats, had the whole world singing 'just one of them days'..."

"EL IMPACTO" // daddy yankee feat. fergie
another daddy yankee hit, with fergie putting some gringa flavor on that shit. HEADLINING LINE: "give it all you got shorty, make the impacto!"

"IF" // beyonce
love, love, love the lyrics. so real. a slow one from B, she sounds amazing on it, but that's no surprise. HEADLINING LINE: "if you let him take me from you, i guess i'll finally see you never wanted me. let this happen and it proves that your love was never true."

"HOUSE ON THE BEACH" // floss
random artists, not so random producer - ryan leslie on this one. adore the beat. and whoever the fuck the singer(s) are, they sound dece too. real smooth and mellow. they also bring a genius solution to a serious issue we all have considered at one point or another... check out these lyrics. no? okay maybe just me. HEADLINING LINE: "babe, i think i need to take a shower, but i don't want this feeling to wash away... okay, we can just make love in this shower so it'll stay."

"IT'S ME BITCHES (REMIX)" // swizz beats feat. lil wayne & r. kelly
how can you deny a little weezy f. baby exploring the french culture... by butchering its language? ok, if you can resist that, then there's at least gotta be something for you on kells' verse. HEADLINING LINE: "i got dreamgirls, what you gonna do? got them chicks singing 'and i am telling you...'"

"THAT AIN'T LOVE" // myxx
serious r&b. so yeah, the topic is a little played out but something about this song .. i love it. their voices, the production, i don't know but it's definitely a good one. HEADLINING LINE: "now let me guess, he puts it all on you, saying you're fussing over nothing and you act a fool... why couldn't you be a little less insecure? baby, he said he doesn't answer 'cause he's at work, he ain't acting brand new, you're just on his nerves... if every time you turn around, it's you, then i am telling you don't you waste your time."

"TELL ME WHERE I'D BE" // mila j
ok, mila j is another one of the most underestimated artists ever. her voice is so unique, i especially like the vocal production on this. HEADLINING LINE: "without your guidance or your protection, who's gonna lead me in the right direction? and when i cry, tell me who's gonna wipe away my tears?

"PASSIN' THRU" // lumidee
lumidee went from what we thought was gonna be a one hit wonder...to back with a new album that isn't half bad. this cut is hot, real emotional & raw. HEADLINING LINE: "wish i had spoke a little more to you... but i was just passin' thru."

"COULD BE ANYTHING" // lumidee
another hot song off lumidee's latest... this album truly lives up to its name 'unexpected' - who expected actually dece songs from the 'uh ohhhh uh ohhhh' chick? HEADLINING LINE: "queen of spanish harlem, hope you understand baby it's a plus, just keep me in ya plans."

"MY GIRL GOTTA GIRLFRIEND" // t-pain
how can you not love a little t-pain? especially with this title. you know you want to hear this. HEADLINING LINE: "my girl gotta girlfriend, i just found out, but it's alright, long as i can be with her too. my girl gotta girlfriend, and really it's not a problem 'cause i'm a make it do what it do. 'cause having two chicks is better than no chicks..."

"TELL THEM WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR" // ray ray
one of the most random songs i've ever downloaded, but it's kinda cute... check it out. HEADLINING LINE: "girl you know you got a pretty face... you're not too big, you're just thick in the waist."

"GO ON GIRL" // ne-yo
quite possibly one of the only quality songs off ne-yo's latest. HEADLINING LINE: "not a single salty tear, not a feeling in my chest, baby i'm feeling no stress...i'm too fly to be depressed. go on girl."

"LOCK U DOWN" // mya feat. lil wayne
mya's back, and obviously knew the proper way to make a comeback is throw weezy on the track. the guitar in the beat turned me off at first, but now i'm feeling it. HEADLINING LINE: "all you gotta do is come around, and i'm a lock you down."

"PROMISE RING" // tiffany evans feat. ciara
so apparently ciara has a protegee or something? aka a mini me, 'cause the beat is very, very reminiscent of "get up." oh wait... and the idea seems strangely familiar to ciara's recent "promise." but i mean, those were both good songs so i'll just throw up this imitation joint. HEADLINING LINE: "if you break ya promise we breakin' up, got a couple things that i want, walks in the park and sweet things, if i rock your promise ring."

"ALMOST MADE YA" // ali & gipp feat. letoya
samples the classic "almost doesn't count" by brandy, with letoya on the (revised) hook. HEADLINING LINE: "almost made you main thing on my agenda, when we first met i just knew you were a winner, but you had to go and mess it up on me, everything i thought you were you really wasn't, i really almost made ya..."

"WHAT CHA TRYIN' TO DO" // sullee feat. joe budden
i gots ta rep boston on this one .. pretty much one of the only rappers to come out of the bean, along with joey on the track, and it's a hit. HEADLINING LINE: "red sox fitted like come on, you know i had to rep boston on 'em!"

"THIS TIME" // jojo
production is on point and jojo comes with it on this song. oh and apparently jojo is urban all of a sudden. who knew. there's also a remix with yungfellaz that's worth checking out. HEADLINING LINE: "this time i won't let you get away from me, this time i'm gonna let you take it where it should be, this time i won't say no 'cause sayin' no is a way to protect me."

plus ..
the entire timbaland album =)
'cause it's amazingggg
